Banco de Oro (BDO) Unibank officially opened its newest branch in the municipality of Hermosa on Friday, August 8, 2025. Located at the 925 Building in Barangay Culis, the branch was inaugurated in a ceremony attended by Mayor Anne Inton, Pusong Pinoy Partylist Representative Jett Nisay, Hermosa Councilor Jinkee Alonzo, BDO’s Anna Marie Teresa Lim, and Rommel Gomez. Local officials said the new facility will make banking services faster, more convenient, and more accessible to residents.
BDO Unibank, Inc., one of the largest bank in the Philippines in terms of assets, loans, deposits, and branch network, offers a wide range of financial services including deposits, lending, remittances, investments, and insurance. With over 1,700 branches and more than 5,800 ATMs nationwide, the bank continues to expand its reach to serve more communities across the country. The opening of the Hermosa branch aligns with BDO’s nationwide expansion program to bring formal banking closer to underserved areas.
Hermosa has seen a surge in new investments in recent years, spurred by the leadership of former mayor Jopet Inton, and continued under Mayor Anne Inton. Strategic infrastructure projects, the development of the Hermosa Central Business Area, and the growth of the Hermosa Special Economic Zone have attracted businesses in manufacturing, logistics, retail, and services. The arrival of BDO is expected to further support this economic momentum by providing essential financial services to both residents and investors.
Mayor Anne Inton expressed optimism that the branch will help sustain Hermosa’s upward trajectory. “This new BDO branch will greatly help our residents and entrepreneurs in managing their financial transactions without having to travel far,” she said, noting that the development is part of the local government’s ongoing “Lipad Hermosa” campaign, which focuses on boosting economic activity, attracting investments, and improving public services.
